CRAFTING ECONOMY

Calculate a recipe before crafting

Crafting profit is not simply selling price minus materials. Location, return, fees, focus, quality and liquidity all change the result.

Do not craft blindly: find the exact item, choose tier and enchantment, and confirm both recipe and prices inside the game.

From recipe to effective cost

Every item consumes a specific combination of refined materials and sometimes an artifact. Initial cost is the sum of those components, while returned materials reduce real economic consumption.

Value artifacts and special components separately. Do not assume they receive the same return as ordinary resources.

Profitability formula

Consumed materials = required materials − expected return

Effective cost = consumed materials + artifact + station fee + transport

Net revenue = executable price − selling taxes

Profit = net revenue − effective cost

To compare different products, add profit per hour, ROI, required capital and volume. A profitable recipe per item can rank lower if it crafts slowly or has little demand.

City, station and bonuses

Albion applies local production bonuses to specific item groups. The in-game map shows active specializations. A suitable location may return more materials, while an expensive station can consume that advantage.

  • Verify the station supports the required tier.
  • Check fees before moving a large lot.
  • Compare the bonus city with alternatives.
  • Include transport for inputs and finished items.

Focus and specialization

Focus improves return. Specialization improves focus efficiency, so characters can spend different amounts on the same production. Focus is not free: it is limited and competes with other activities.

A useful comparison is additional profit per focus point. Prioritize recipes where returned materials are valuable enough.

Quality, enchantment and price

Normal, Good, Outstanding, Excellent and Masterpiece are separate markets. Higher quality may sell for more, but it is not guaranteed and can have lower volume. Always compare the same tier, enchantment and quality.

For conservative analysis, use a realistic selling quality rather than building the whole margin around a Masterpiece outcome.

Where should you sell?

You can sell in city markets or evaluate Black Market orders in Caerleon. Every destination has different demand, fees, waiting time and risk. The tool compares normal prices and, where appropriate, Black Market opportunities.

  1. Filter by name, category, tier and enchantment.
  2. Select the exact item and quality.
  3. Choose crafting city and focus use.
  4. Review recipe, cost, return and lot.
  5. Compare selling markets with volume.
  6. Save the plan and verify values in game.

Frequently asked questions

Does quality change recipe cost?

The base recipe stays the same, but resulting quality can change price and selling speed.

Is the bonus city always best?

No. Compare return, station fee, material cost, transport and sale price.

Should I craft items to study them?

Studying sacrifices the item for progression. Treat it as a specialization investment rather than a profitable sale.
